What is Wala Works?

Wala Works creates open-source, vendor-agnostic home automation hardware powered by ESPHome firmware. We believe in:

Do I need a subscription?

No. All Wala Works products work completely offline with zero recurring costs. No monthly fees, no cloud services, no subscriptions. Ever.

Do products require internet?

No for normal operation. Products work entirely on your local network.

Yes for initial setup and OTA updates:

• WiFi configuration (one-time)
• Firmware updates (optional, can use USB instead)
• Home Assistant cloud features (optional)

Once configured, products work indefinitely without internet.
